Description

Painted by Lt. Cmdr. Edmond James Fitzgerald , the 37-foot mural depicted the role of merchant mariners in the World War II Normandy invasion. In addition to views of the mural, Capt. Percy H. Hauffman, 2Asst. Engr. Francis E. Rack, Alexander Waigant, Sten Nordh, L. Gordon Hamersley, Robert A. Constantine, and Clarence G. Michalis are shown at the unveiling.
