A scrapbook containing photographs of seafarers, ships and port scenes from around the world. Inscription reads: "To Mrs. E. M. Baxter, Commemorating nine years of esteemed friendship, "Vires acquirit eundo," Apprentices' Room, SCI, New York, Oct. 2nd, 1930." The scrapbook was most likely compiled by Mrs. Edith Baxter, Supervisor of the Apprentice Room at 25 South Street, SCI’s headquarters from 1913-1967.
