The Titanic and SCI
Titanic Memorial Park
In 1968, after 55 years of service at the building at 25 South Street, SCI moved its headquarters to 15 State Street. The old building was demolished and the Memorial Lighthouse was donated to the South Street Seaport Museum. In 1976, the Museum installed the Lighthouse on the corner of Fulton and Pearl streets where it remains today amidst the skyscraping financial buildings and the cobble stone seaport blocks, serving as a memorial to the Titanic and all of the lives lost one hundred years ago.
