An interview with Tomás Vazquez, who began his career with the Military Sealift Command (then the Military Sea Transportation Service), providing supplies and transport for the U.S. military. Later in his Merchant Marine career, Tomás survived the sinking of the SS AMERICAN EAGLE, an oil tanker that suffered a fatal cargo tank explosion in the Gulf of Mexico in 1984.
