Description (Scope and Content)
Tomás took his last job at sea on the SS AMERICAN EAGLE. While sailing in the Gulf of Mexico, the oil tanker suffered a cargo tank explosion, killing three crewmen instantly. The ship sank slowly, but the lifeboats were jammed and the crew was forced to jump overboard and tread water.
